A.K.S. Special Awards
Frederic A. Reinecke Appreciation Award

Sensei Frederic A. Reinecke was presented with a special recognition plaque for his leadership and constant striving for excellence both as one of the Assistant Chief Instructors of the A.K.S., and also as one of our senior members who sets the bar at a level challenging others to keep up.

Over the years, Sensei Reinecke's dedication to the A.K.S., his professionalism and drive to keep the organization respected within the martial arts community, and his constant efforts to continue to learn and teach others have been nothing short of exemplar. As the Chief Instructor for the A.K.S., it was both an honor and a personal pleasure to make the presentation.

On behalf of the members of the AKS - congratulations and well done.

Michael A. Sullenger 9th Dan / Chief Instructor A.K.S.

Mike Sullenger Appreciation Award Mike's Special Award Plaque

This year found me being caught in such a surprise when I was presented with a plaque by Dave Thomas on behalf of the membership after the other presentations were made.

Needless to say, I was as unsuspecting as those who had preceded me. The respect and honor bestowed upon me by the members of the A.K.S in this plaque left me searching for words. Like my friend, Jude, I'm not often caught flat footed and without a retort. This recognition has more meaning than virtually any other I've received over the years because it came from the heart of those I've come to love and respect as family.

Thank you just doesn't seem to say all I feel.

Michael A. Sullenger 9th Dan / AKS Chief Instructor
