Congratulations to all students who have been promoted this past quarter, and best wishes in your continued training. -------------- Attention Instructors, if you have students who have been promoted, please send this information so that we may acknowledge their accomplishments.
SUMMER CAMP . . . Arrangements are presently being made with Mr. Thomas for accommodations for Mike, Rob, and Roy. Mr. Ed Baessler usually takes in two guests. In addition, we have other homes that will be available. However, we need to know soon, as they will fill very quickly. We can also provide you with discounted rooms at local hotels and motels in the Muskegon area. I would contact the A.K.S. Headquarters within the next 30 days to reserve your place in one of our local A.K.S. homes. THINGS YOU MAY NEED AT SUMMER CAMP . . . [1] At least two White Karate Uniforms. Only white uniforms are allowed for those attending our Seminar. [2] Bring a cup, a supporter, safety equipment, head, hand, foot gear, and a mouth piece. [3] Oriental weapons which you plan on using for training. Be aware that you cannot carry them onto an airplane. But you can put them in your luggage, as long as you notify the Airlines, explaining their usage for training, and they must be out of your reach. They cannot be in your personal possesion or you may be charged with a felony. Please comply with all of our National laws. [4] If you are staying in someone's home, it might be nice if you brought your own soap and soap dish. Maybe a small gift for your host, to show your appreciation; perhaps something from the state or country where you live. Remember, it will save you a lot of money by being a guest in one of our homes. [5] Do not forget the normal items you may need. Such as an electric shaver or a shaving kit, a comb, toothpaste, tooth brush, fingernail file, fingernail clippers, hand lotion, etc., etc. [6] Let your family know where they can reach you in case of an emergency. You may also give them my telephone number, Mr. Reinecke's, and that of Mr. Thomas. [7] Bring enough money along for food, entertainment and sight seeing, if you so choose. [8] If you want to purchase A.K.S. requirement tapes, past A.K.S. Summer training videos, history, katas, weapons, fighting, or Black Belt tests, you must notify Mr. Lieb ahead of time so that they will be available for you at camp. Otherwise, they will need to be shipped to you, and this means that it will cost you extra for handling and shipping. So save yourself some money by a simple phone call to [ 231-755-1513 ] Mr. Lieb. We hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip. See you in June! There will be more information to come. Please check the "events" page on our regular website for exact class schedule and times.
